Amazonas authorities intensified the search for a missing paratrooper after heavy rain that hit the state capital on Friday afternoon (15) – a body was located this Saturday morning (16). Of the 14 paratroopers, four had their route deflected by the wind.
“Two managed to land on the banks of the river in a precarious way and the other two fell into the water between the middle of the bridge to the bank of Cacau Pirêra”, detailed the commander general of the Amazonas Fire Department, Colonel Orleilso Muniz, citing that the The body located on Saturday morning is that of a woman who fell into the Rio Negro.
In all, 74 agents of the security forces are involved in the search for the paratrooper who is still missing, with the support of five vessels and a helicopter.
The firefighters ask for the public’s help with information that can lead to the other parachutist: “People who have information on the location of parachute fragments or clothing fragments should inform us through social networks or emergency numbers” highlighted Colonel Muniz .
The state government created a crisis bureau to monitor the search until the last paratrooper is located.
