The Paraná Civil Police arrested the second suspect involved in the murder of businessman Rafael Machado, 47 years old.
Security camera footage shows the suspect inside the car where the body was found.
The businessman was beheaded and the body was left inside the car in the garage of Machado’s residence. The son found his father’s body, which had its neck cut and hands and feet tied.
The other suspect, who had been arrested red-handed, had a very close relationship with the victim, he told CNN delegate Magda Hofstaetter. The two families had been friends for a long time.
The movement in the residence in the early hours of last Friday (1st) was recorded by security cameras.
According to the Civil Police, disagreements between Machado and one of the suspects would have been the motivation for the crime.
No courage
In testimony, one of the suspects told the Civil Police of Paraná that he would not have the courage to commit the crime alone and offered R$ 4,500 for another man to kill the businessman. The delegate believes that this version is false. The other accused remained silent during interrogation.
“During the testimony of the person who ordered the crime, he made it clear that something serious happened a long time ago in his relationship with the businessman, but it was not clear to us what actually happened,” said Hofstaetter.
The delegate said that investigations are at the beginning and it is still not possible to pinpoint the real motivation of the crime. “Some gaps have not been filled yet.”, she finished her.
