A crasher who was removed from the marriage of ex-president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) with sociologist Rosângela Silva, Janja, on Wednesday (18), was deputy secretary of the Treasury and Heritage of the city of Itapevi, in Sao Paulo.
Antônio de Pádua Freitas Moreira Junior was fired from his position this Thursday (19), due to the episode. Junior, as he is known, was removed from the party around 11:45 pm.
wanted by CNN, the mayor of Itapevi, Igor Soares (Podemos), confirmed the exoneration due to the fact that the now ex-servant had entered Lula’s wedding without being invited.
“The attitude of the former servant of the Itapevi city hall does not match the attitude of a public agent in a position of trust. For these reasons, he was dismissed yesterday, with publication published in this Friday’s edition of the Official Gazette of the Municipality, from the role of assistant secretary. I defend that respect for others should be the premise of every citizen,” said the mayor in a statement.
Soares also said “that every human being needs to be respected in their particular moments. And the wedding party is a special occasion, reserved for invited friends.”
When contacted, the PT said it would not comment on the episode. THE CNN still seeks contact with the now ex-secretary.
According to labor lawyer Marcelise Azevedo, the case is not within the scope of the Labor Court, as it is not an employee hired under the CLT or other labor legislation, but rather a public servant holding a commissioned position and not effective.
“It is, therefore, dismissible ad nutum, since its occupants can be exonerated without a previous administrative process. There is no stability in commission positions,” he told CNN.
