Two men who worked as private security guards were arrested in the early hours of this Tuesday (17), transporting more than 100 kilos of cocaine on Rodovia Presidente Dutra (BR-116), in Piraí, in the south of Rio de Janeiro.
The agents located the drugs after an approach and had the help of sniffer dogs. In total, 105 kilos of cocaine were hidden in a false bottom in the trunk of the car.
According to investigations, the two security guards had left São Paulo and were going to deliver the cocaine load to a community in Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to driving an armed escort vehicle, the men carried two weapons that were seized.
The incident was forwarded to the Federal Police. The pair were taken to the state prison system, where they will remain at the disposal of the courts.
The arrest was carried out by agents from the Federal Highway Police and the Federal Police.
Teams from the Dog Operations Group (GOC-RJ) of the PRF, the Sensitive Investigations Group (GISE-RJ) and the Narcotics Repression Police Station (DRE-RJ) of the PF carried out an operation on the highway with the aim of preventing and repress arms and drug trafficking.
