The Ecuadorians vote this Sunday (13) to choose who will be the next president of the country. Ecuador’s current ruler, Daniel Noboa, hopes to overcome the 2025 elections and continue to ruling the country for another four -year term. In the midst of a turbulent administration, marked by electricity and security crises, noboa intends to fulfill his decisions and campaign promises.
The government plan, which he is promoting under the flag of the National Democratic Action Movement (DNA), is mainly focused on continuing the political project that led him to become the youngest president to take office in 2023. These are his main proposals:
Combating insecurity
In his new government plan, Noboa proposes to “design and implement public security policies according to the current scenario of risks and threats”, strengthen actions to combat organized crime and drug trafficking and implement actions through the security bloc to contain and reduce criminal violence.
Energy crisis
The plan provides that “actions must be implemented to ensure the continuity of the service, as well as promote projects aimed at a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy.” For this, it proposes the generation of non -traditional renewable energy that expands energy supply.
Economic development
Emphasizes the promotion of “sustainable and equitable” economic development to generate decent jobs and reduce informal employment. It proposes a “National Policy for Industrial Development” with the objective of generating value -added chains and diversifying the economy through infrastructure investments.
Infrastructure, road development and housing
An annual investment plan will be prepared for infrastructure, favoring those that “generate more jobs and productive bonds”. To recover investment in roads, ports and telecommunications, a “favorable and synergistic environment for private investment will be established.
Combat to corruption
It proposes the strengthening of central government support to the various inspection bodies so that they can investigate corruption cases, respecting the separation of powers.
