One Bus with about 50 people on board overturned at dawn on Tuesday (8), in Araguari, in the interior of Minas Gerais. According to information, Eleven people died in the accident.
The rollover occurred on the MG-223 State Highway around 3:40 am, towards Tupaciguara, near the Daixinho clover, height of kilometer 223.
The bus belongs to Viação Real Expresso, which regretted what happened. According to Viação, the bus left with 49 passengers from Anápolis, in Goiás, at 20:30 yesterday (7) and was destined for the city of São Paulo.
According to the road, 11 fatalities were confirmed and 18 injured were taken to the hospital of the Federal University of Uberlândia (HC-UFU) and to the Araguari UPA and are receiving proper care. The other passengers were released and went on.
“Since the occurrence, our teams have been mobilized immediately, including specialized professionals, to provide support on site and with family members. We are working closely with the authorities responsible to investigate the causes of the accident and clarify all the details,” adds the company note.
In a statement, the Federal University of Uberlândia (HC-UFU) hospital said it has received 7 victims so far and does not share health reports or any other patient information.
According to the Fire Department, among the fatal victims are two children, who died at the scene.
The other passengers had minor injuries, or were not injured, and dispensed with the Fire Department. The corporation reported that the occurrence is still underway.
The Araguari City Hall, through the Municipal Health Secretariat, said it accompanies the consequences of the accident and that the Araguari Emergency Care Unit (UPA), where some of the injured were taken, is in a state of overcrowding.
“Given this, the city asks the population not to move to the UPA, except in cases of urgency and emergency, and that it awaits the opening of the nearest health unit in order to ensure adequate care for the injured in the accident.”
The municipal administration expressed deep grief and solidarity to family and friends of fatalities.
