The accident in which a bus rolled down a cliff in Alagoas left at least 18 people dead. Of the victims, 17 died yesterday and a four-year-old child died this morning in a hospital in Maceió.
The bus with 45 passengers fell off a cliff in the city of União dos Palmares, in Alagoas, on Sunday afternoon (24). According to firefighters, the incident was called around 3pm.
Samu teams were also sent to the region known as “Serra da Barriga”, in the interior of the state. At the scene of the accident, officers found the vehicle overturned on a cliff. The victims were rescued and taken to the State General Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital and Mata Regional Hospital.

Last Sunday afternoon, the state government confirmed that 23 people had died in the accident. However, hours later, he corrected the number of deaths to 17 on Sunday.
According to the agency, one of the fatal victims was taken to a hospital, but died during treatment.
The Civil Police regretted the accident and reported that the União dos Palmares Regional Police Station has already opened an investigation to investigate the causes of the incident.
