See moment when building collapsed after earthquake reaches Thailand

A video shared on social networks shows the moment when a building at Chatuchak Park, one of the oldest parks in Thailand’s capital Bangkok, collapsed after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake, with epicenter in Myanmar, causing tremors throughout Thailand.

The filming, shared on social network X, shows construction workers running away from the site while the building collapsed in a matter of seconds, raising a large cloud of dust.

The building, which seemed to be under construction, was reduced to rubble.

Rescue teams keep trying to find out exactly how stuck in the rubble.

Dozens of people remain inaccessible and the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (NIEM) reported that 20 workers were also arrested in an elevator at the site.

Ultimately, the NIm said that the exact number of dead people is not known.

The building, which was under construction, was identified as the new audit office of the state for the kingdom of Thailand.

Authorities reported that about 320 people were in the construction site in Chatuchak Park at the time of collapse.

The niem reported that 50 people were injured and 40 were taken to the hospital.
