This Tuesday (23), Gol decided to suspend the transport of animals in the hold after the death of the five-year-old Golden Retriever Joca, transported to the wrong destination. The case was registered as a 'crime of animal abuse' and will now be investigated by the Environmental Crimes Investigation Department. The service is suspended until May 24th. During this period, the company must reevaluate the protocols and conditions for transporting pets. Transport in the cabin continues without changes.
The news caused a stir among owners who usually transport their animals by plane. One of the complaints registered on social media is the fact that companies do not have unified rules for this type of transport and impose a series of limitations on animal owners, being able to refuse transport if they consider that the animal does not comply with the rules.
