The trim occurred around 3:20 pm on Tuesday (18). The images show a strong wind when the Brazilian Air Force Airbus A319 tries to land. According to the State Civil Defense, gusts of 54 km/h were registered in Sorocaba in the afternoon.
The plane approaches the track and is just meters from the ground, when the pilot decides to abort the landing. The aircraft then rise again. The jet makes a circular trajectory and approaches the airport again, where he normally landed at 3:33 pm.
In a statement, the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic stated that the first attempt to land had to be aborted due to a tail wind, which “was changed in natural weather conditions and resulting from the change of time in the macroregion of São Paulo”.
The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) classifies the rush as a normal procedure, which is performed “when not obtaining visual conditions at the critical height of the descent problem” or “when, for safety reasons, desire or is ordered a new approximation”.
In October last year, this same plane had to orbit for about four hours after presenting a technical problem after taking off from Mexico City.
