See what are the dates and national holidays for 2022

The Ministry of Economy released this Wednesday (22) the calendar of dates and holidays for 2022. To the misfortune of many, long holidays will be scarce, but there will be rest throughout the week for Brazilians.

The only extended break for next year will be in Holy Week, on April 15, which will fall on a Friday.

The ordinance also highlighted that: the holidays declared by state or municipal law referred to in items II and III of art. 1 and art. 2 of Law No. 9,093 of September 12, 1995, will be observed by the departments of the direct federal, autarchic and foundational Public Administration, in their respective locations.

  • January 1st, Confraternização Universal (national holiday);
  • February 28, Carnival (optional);
  • March 1, Carnival (optional);
  • March 2, Ash Wednesday (optional until 2 pm);
  • April 15, Passion of Christ (national holiday);
  • April 21, Tiradentes (national holiday);
  • May 1st, World Labor Day (national holiday);
  • June 16, Corpus Christi (optional);
  • September 7, Independence of Brazil (national holiday);
  • October 2, Nossa Senhora Aparecida (national holiday);
  • October 28, Civil Servant Day – art. 236 of Law No. 8112, of December 11, 1990, (optional point);
  • November 2, All Souls (national holiday);
  • November 15, Proclamation of the Republic (national holiday);
  • December 25th, Christmas (national holiday).
