The Civil Police of São Paulo are investigating the accident on the toboggan at an amusement park that caused the death of teacher Luciana Morgado Cerri Teixeira, 42, and injured her 7-year-old son. in São Roque, in the interior of the state.
The teacher’s body was buried early this Monday afternoon (10), in Campinas, in an atmosphere of commotion. Luciana and her son were thrown against the toy’s protective grid.
Relatives and friends charged the investigation of the circumstances of the accident. Ski Mountain Park remained closed on Monday. City Hall said it will inspect the facilities.
Adriana Cerri, Luciana’s sister, used social networks to say goodbye to the teacher. “A piece of me is gone, my best friend is gone, my soulmate is gone, my dear and much loved sister is gone… I will love you forever and you will always be alive in my heart. I will take care of yours, ours and everything you loved intensely until the end, ”she wrote. During the wake, at the Parque das Acacias Cemetery Chapel, this Monday morning, the sister said that the family hopes that all the circumstances of the accident will be investigated.
What the witnesses say
Behavioral coach Janini Janeri, a resident of Jundiaí, witnessed the accident. She had descended from the cable car, another attraction in the park, when she saw the woman with her son on her lap being thrown against the guardrail, after going over a bump in the toboggan.
The teacher, according to her, was unconscious. “I helped the child who was in the middle of her leg. Everyone without understanding what had happened. The woman wouldn’t get up,” she described her. For her, there was the impression that the rescue team was not prepared to deal with the situation.
Nutritionist Isabela Pires, from Sorocaba, was also in the park and saw when people started screaming, drawing the attention of employees to the accident.
“The woman passed with the child in her arms in front of where I was and they arrived at the speed bump. Soon after I heard some screams and saw that they had been thrown off the toboggan. The people who were nearby helped until the ambulance arrived, ”she said.
The witnesses will be heard by the Civil Police of São Roque, where an inquiry was opened to investigate the accident.
During the weekend, the Civil Police already heard from two people, including the monitor who accompanied the toboggan users, and obtained a list of people who were in the place to carry out new hearings.
The reports of the expertise carried out on the equipment by the Scientific Police and the necropsy performed on the victim’s body should be ready within 30 days.

The city hall of São Roque said, in a note, that the establishment has municipal licenses to operate and that agents from the Inspection Division will carry out an on-site inspection. “The City Hall of São Roque deeply regrets the case that occurred at Ski Mountain Park and offers solidarity to the victims involved and their families, as well as to the community of this important and traditional park in the city”, says the note.
On Monday, inspection by the Regional Council of Engineering and Architecture (Crea) was also on site. The aim was to check whether the construction of the toboggan followed the technical and engineering standards. The inspection report will still be issued.
Ski Mountain Park released a note regretting what happened and making itself available to the family. He also said that he is at the disposal of the authorities in order to collaborate with the investigation of the facts. Questioned by the report about the possible unpreparedness of the rescue team pointed out by a witness, the park’s management has not yet responded.
