See what were the wars between India and Pakistan throughout history

Caxemira has been a critical point in relations between India and Pakistan since both gained the independence of Britain in 1947.

The two nations that emerged from the bloody division of British India – Pakistan, mostly Muslim, and Hindu India – claim the cashmira fully and, months after becoming independent, crashed the first three wars around the territory.

Here is a recap of the story behind the conflict between the two nations:

1947

India and Pakistan conquer the independence of Britain. The ruler of Caxemira initially decides to remain independent, choosing not to become part of Pakistan or India.

After the invasion of Pakistani militants, he signs a letter of adhesion to India. Pakistan does not recognize the letter as a legal document, starting the war.

In 1949, the two countries agree to remove all troops behind a mutually awake ceasefire line, later known as the control line.

1965

India and Pakistan come into war again by Caxemira. The confrontation did not solve the dispute over the territory.

1971

This was the largest war between the two countries, resulting in a humiliating loss to Pakistan and the creation of the state of Bangladesh, from the region previously known as Eastern Pakistan.

1999

India and Pakistan have a limited border conflict in Caxemira, after armed invaders of Pakistan cross the control line in the city of Kargil.

India launched “Operation Sindoor” on Wednesday (7)-Tuesday night (6), in Brasilia-and reached “terrorist infrastructure” in both Pakistan and in the region of Caxemira administered by Pakistan.

This is a large climb that takes the two neighboring nations, which have nuclear weapons, on the verge of a total war. Pakistan says it has slaughtered five Indian Air Force jets and a drone.

India did not confirm these losses. Pakistani sources said three of the five slaughtered aircraft were Rafale – valuable actives from the Indian Air Force purchased from a French manufacturer.

The Indian offensive occurs after armed men kill 26 people, mostly tourists, in Caxemira controlled by India in April. India accused Pakistan of involvement, something the Pakistani government denies.
