Seibert: There should be uniform travel regulations in the EU

The representative of the Government of Germany, Stephen Seibert, stressed that the government is pursuing uniform travel regulations in the European Union for those coming from areas with increased incidence of variants of its key executive coronavirus.

According to the APE – MPE, referring to a relevant article in the Times of London, Mr. Seibert pointed out that “today we see e.g. “In the UK, but also within the EU, in Portugal, how fast the number of cases and consequently the hospital care can increase further due to new variants” and spoke specifically about the “Delta” variant.

“That is why here in our country we strongly advise not to travel to areas where the spread of variations is observed. There are specific rules, with clear and strict quarantine regulations and only a few exceptions. “The government is of the opinion and is pursuing this in Europe, that we should have a single process for all in this very serious issue – where it is not yet united, there we will continue to pursue it,” the government spokesman added.
