Seized by the PF, Lamborghini of the “King of Bitcoin” is auctioned for R$ 845 thousand

The Lamborghini Gallardo of Cláudio José Oliveira, known as the “King of Bitcoin”, was auctioned this Friday (22) for R$ 805 thousand. With the addition of some fees, the final amount will be R$ 845.2 thousand.

The seizure took place in July last year during Operation Daemon, by the Federal Police (PF), in Curitiba. The practice of crimes of embezzlement, money laundering, criminal organization, as well as crimes against the popular economy and the national financial system were investigated.

The 2009/2010 vehicle is equipped with a 10-cylinder engine and 560 hp, going from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, and reaching a maximum speed of 325 km/h.

Until then, Lamborghini had a PF plot, but it was not used daily, only in specific actions, such as exhibitions and pedagogical actions to repress organized crime and decapitalization of assets of criminal organizations, according to the entity.

According to the website of the group that held the auction, the car is in good condition and has some damage and scratches. It will be delivered as-is, and the functioning of all mechanical and electrical components cannot be attested.

27 bids were made by the buyer, who is from Rio de Janeiro. The initial value of the vehicle was R$ 629 thousand.

Grupo Banco Bicoin, owned by Cláudio José Oliveira, offered investment services that promised high returns in the short term. However, customers made several complaints in 2019 stating that they were prevented from withdrawing amounts.

As a result, an investigation was initiated by the Civil Police of Paraná with the Federal Police. The conclusion was reached that Cláudio was diverting values from the group for his own use, doing so from third-party accounts.
