In an operation conducted by the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), police officers dismantled a cocaine distribution scheme in Cotia, in Greater São Paulo. The operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of 900.8 kilos of drugs.
The commerce center operated in a warehouse located on Gabirobas Street, in the Caputeras neighborhood. The investigation began after the identification of a Renault Logan vehicle, suspected of involvement in illicit activities.
The police investigation intensified with the arrival of a Volkswagen Costellation truck and a Renault Sandero at the scene. Suspicious movement and the observation of vigilant behavior by one of the occupants led to police intervention.
Inside the warehouse, police found the truck and a GM Montan pickup loaded with 450 bricks of cocaine. The driver of the truck was also identified, who was carrying R$100,000, allegedly as payment for transporting the narcotics. Three people were arrested at the scene.
The operation extended to another address in Jardim do Engenho, on Rua dos Búfalos, where two more members of the distribution network were detained and a VUC HR vehicle was seized.
The action continued at a property on Rua Angola, in the Outeiro de Passárgada neighborhood, where the VW Saveiro pickup truck was located with the suspension compromised due to the weight of 446 bricks of cocaine.
The five men were charged with drug trafficking and association for drug trafficking. The vehicles used in the operation were also seized.
