Huawei has begun distributing the first beta version of its “proprietary replacement” for Android, the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system, for two more smartphone models.
In December, developers and industry partners of the company were able to access the test version of HarmonyOS 2.0 (in China – Hongmeng OS 2.0) on Huawei P40, P40 Pro, Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro and MatePad Pro. Now it’s the turn of the Huawei P30 and Mate 30 Pro 5G.
The smartphones received an assembly numbered 2.0.0.33 with a size of 4.03 GB.
Registration for ordinary users to participate in the open beta testing of HarmonyOS 2.0 will last until the end of January. The exact date for the launch of open beta testing, as well as testing outside of China, has not yet been announced.
By the way, Honor smartphones may no longer receive the Huawei platform. Honor CEO Zhao Ming said that it all depends on the progress that HarmonyOS developers make. Despite being a division of Huawei in the past, Honor is now an independent company that intends to follow the rules of business cooperation.
