But zooming in on her red handbag, an unexpected circular sticker appears in plain sight with the chromatically contrasting white writing “I voted”. An oversight? A hoax? Not at all, just before arriving at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles for the event, Selena Gomez made a brief stop right at the designated postal polls, fully dressed and equipped with a ballot paper, depositing her vote for the 2024 US presidential election.

Yet, «I can’t go to the premiere without voting first” declares the actress bluntly in a video published by her Tiktok account, as she walks along a sidewalk and greets a food truck to the tune of Hot to Go by Chappell Roan. An urgent, essential and profound civic sense, which cannot wait. Or rather, it can only be sealed by a great red carpet dress.
