Selena Gomez felt a sense of relief after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder . During an event in New York, the singer said that she felt better after receiving the diagnosis – as she began to understand what she was going through.
The 31-year-old star revealed publicly in 2020 that she had been diagnosed with the health condition, and has now confessed that the news actually came as a clarification for her.
“All these confusing things were happening. Once I finally found the answer, it wasn't like thinking, 'Wow, I have this problem.' It actually made me feel better to know and understand what was going on in my mind,” he explained in an interview during the TIME100 Summit in New York.
Selena Gomez said she has been exploring different ways of dealing with the condition, including sharing her story publicly.
“When you start to share a little, you realize how much less alone you are and how many of us are more similar than different,” said the actress.
