Selton Mello is confirmed in “Anaconda”, a film with Paul Rudd

The actor Selton Mello 52, was confirmed in the cast of the new version of “Anaconda” according to information from the magazine HollywoodReporter .

The artist, who has gained international recognition with his work in “I’m Still Here” joins a cast that includes Paul Rudd , Jack Black and Thandiwe Newton .

On social media, Mello shared his excitement at being part of the project: “New phase of the game. Being happy and having fun doing what I love in another way, in another language, on another continent”, he began on Instagram.

“Everything different, but similar. New colleagues, Jack Black and Paul Rudd. New ways of expressing myself, new paths. I keep looking for things that make me certain, expanding to other places and inside. Expanding, above all, inside”, he concluded.

The plot of the new version of “Anaconda” follows a group of friends in mid-life crisis who travel to the forest to re-record a film that marked their youth. During this journey, they face the dangers of nature, including giant snakes, and begin to confront their own insecurities.

Selton Mello will play a Brazilian animal caretaker who brings a more comedic approach to the story.

The director Tom Gormican known for his work on “The Weight of Talent” is at the helm of the production, which presents a different take on the classic 1997 horror film, starring Jennifer Lopez and Jon Voight.

While the original film focused on a team of explorers in the Amazon being hunted by a monstrous anaconda, the new version mixes action, comedy and a reflection on life in middle age.

The premiere is scheduled for the day December 25, 2025 .
