The Federal Senate approved, this Wednesday (16), the Bill (PL) No. of the public network. The bill is being analyzed by the Chamber of Deputies.
Professionals in the teaching profession had already been seeking approval for the bill for some years.
Educators who were effectively working in the public network during the period in which the underpayment to Fundef (from 1997 to 2006) and Fundeb (from 2007 to 2020) took place are entitled to the benefit.
As for the permanent Fundeb, it will be distributed among basic education professionals in effective exercise in the public network during the period in which the underpayment to this Fund occurs.
Retirees who prove effective exercise in these periods, as well as the heirs of qualified professionals are also beneficiaries.
Senator Rodrigo Cunha, rapporteur for the PL, stated that the project seeks, once again, to make it clear that these professionals are entitled to sub-binding provided for both in the extinct Fundef law and in the Fundeb law, establishing criteria and benchmarks for payments.
“The performance of teachers has an impact inside and outside the classroom, whether on student performance, school quality and the country’s progress”, declared the rapporteur.
The text also states that the amount to be paid to each professional has an indemnification nature and is not incorporated into the monthly remuneration of active employees or the income of inactive employees.
According to the report, the PL does not encourage an increase in expenditure or a decrease in revenue from the General Budget of the Union (OGU).
