Senate approves bill that guarantees protective measures for application deliverers

The Senate has passed a bill that guarantees protective measures for app deliverers during the covid-19 pandemic. The measure provides insurance against accidents, supply of masks, alcohol gel and financial assistance to professionals contaminated with the new coronavirus.

The proposal will depend on the sanction of President Jair Bolsonaro. According to the project, the delivery application company will have to take out accident insurance, without deductible, for the deliverymen. This insurance will have to cover accidents that occur during the delivery of the products.

In addition, the application company must pay an assistance benefit for 15 days, extendable for an additional 30 days, to couriers who become infected with the new coronavirus. In this case, the aid amount will be calculated according to the average of the last three monthly payments received by the professional.
