The Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE) of the Senate approved, this Tuesday (5), the names of Diogo Abry Guillen and Renato Dias de Brito Gomes for the board of the Central Bank. The nominations are still for analysis by the House plenary this Tuesday.
Guillen should assume the chair of director of Economic Policy, replacing Fábio Kanczuk. Dias Gomes will be responsible for the Financial System Organization and Resolution directorate, a position previously held by João Manoel Pinho de Mello.
In the same session, the names of Alexandro Barreto de Souza and Victor Oliveira Fernandes were also approved for the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade), with a term of office of four years.
This Tuesday afternoon, the CAE is still meeting to discuss two other nominees: Juliana Oliveira Domingues, for the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Specialized Federal Prosecutor’s Office with CADE, and João Carlos Andrade Uzêda Accioly, for the Board of Directors of the Securities (CVM).
