The Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, left the official residence of the President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), this Wednesday morning (9), after almost two hours of meeting on the projects that deal with fuel in the Senate and did not speak to the press.
Senator Jean Paul Prates (PT-RN) participated in the meeting and confirmed that the two projects reported by him will be voted on in the House on this date.
The senator stated that there are no changes to the texts already presented by him. One of the projects creates a cost stabilization account for fuels.
The other changes the collection of ICMS, a state tax, for fuel leaving the refinery or for receiving imported fuel.
According to Prates, there will be no single rate for the States and each entity will be able to continue defining its rate.
Asked about the government’s studies on creating a temporary subsidy for fuels in view of the international rise in oil prices, the senator replied that the topic was not addressed at the meeting with Pacheco and Guedes.
Soon, at 11 am, Guedes meets at Palácio do Planalto with the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, to continue discussing the fuel crisis.
The Minister of the Civil House, Ciro Nogueira, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, and the president of the Central Bank, Roberto Campos Neto, also participate in the meeting in Planalto.
