Senators disagree on the agreement of the PEC of Precatório

The Congress held this Wednesday afternoon (8) the ceremony for the promulgation of the PEC dos Precatórios, after the presidents of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), and of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), agreement between the two houses, to slice the agenda, with the commitment to vote on the remaining points next week.

But the session is being marked by disagreement among parliamentarians. The senators pointed out that there was a breach of agreement in the choice of parts of the proposal to be published in slices.

However, the enactment list contains an article that does not match the demand of senators regarding the need to link the fiscal space to be created with the PEC to social security.

According to senator Simone Tebet (MDB-MS), the link –established in article 4 of the Senate proposal– was placed as a condition for the slicing of the PEC to be accepted by the senators.

The theme, according to Pacheco, will be analyzed in a vote next Tuesday in the Chamber — a commitment publicly assumed by Lira. But the issue pointed out by Tebet and by senator Álvaro Dias (Podemos-PR) is that the PEC to be partially promulgated this Wednesday already brings a wording for article 4 without the desired binding.

Senator Paulo Rocha (PT-PA) also identified a problem in another article, pointing out a divergence between what was agreed upon and what is planned to be enacted.

The enactment of the PEC was called for at 3:30 pm this Wednesday, but the formal act has not taken place so far, as congressmen raised the differences. Senators raised the possibility of interrupting the session so that the text to be promulgated can be debated again.
