Developers from the studio Intercept Games officially announced the work on Kerbal Space Program 2 back in 2019, but the project apparently turned out to be too ambitious and complicated, so the release of the video game was postponed several times. Fortunately, the authors of the project made the final decision to still release the video game to the public – the key event will take place on February 24, 2023, but it should be noted right away that the game will be sent to the public in the early access format. Accordingly, it is still quite difficult to call this event a full-fledged release of Kerbal Space Program 2, although along with the announcement of the date, the developers also presented a roadmap in which they demonstrated their plans for the future.
For example, Kerbal Space Program 2 will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store for a price of $50 – a competitor to the Valve platform has not received any advantages, but the gamer will have a choice, which is not bad. The second important point is that the developers listened to the complaints of gamers who have been criticizing the inconvenient and not always clear video game interface for years. In the second part of the engineering simulator, the user will be provided with a more pleasant interface, which has been updated specifically to improve the comfort and convenience of the audience. In addition, the creators of the video game decided that it would be nice to create a detailed guide so that gamers do not try to build a rocket by trial and error.
Accordingly, a new section will appear in Kerbal Space Program 2 with full-fledged tutorials and various guides that will allow gamers to quickly get used to the video game, understand all the basic rules and mechanics. Previously, for this, you had to use third-party guides from the Internet, although, of course, they have not lost their relevance even with the new training section. And when gamers learn how to build rockets and various space stations, the developers will show a sea of new interesting content. For example, now it will be possible to build entire colonies outside the Earth, make interstellar travel and even play in multiplayer mode.

The developers are sure that the second part will be interesting both for devoted fans of the video game who have been launching rockets into space for a long time, and for beginners who are just planning to assemble their first rocket or spacecraft. The only sad thing is that after three and a half years of development, the project is still not ready for a full release.
