A senior executive of the Petroleum company Transneft, who has a Russian oil monopoly, died suddenly in Moscow, the oil company announced today. Transneft said in a statement that Andrei Badalov, 62, vice president of the company, was responsible for the digitization and automation of Transneft’s huge pipeline networks. In her announcement she also stresses that Batalov, who joined the company in 2021 “during a difficult and stressful period”, had helped the company overcome the complications associated with the IT systems resulting from western sanctions. Transneft, who praised the deceased’s professional abilities, did not comment on the cause of his death. The state -run news agency Tass cited a source of police authorities who said Badalov appears to have committed suicide and left a note.
