In Serbia, it started to be published electronically today “Green certificate” for travel abroad. The application operates through the e-government system and can be used by all citizens who have been vaccinated or have undergone coronavirus molecular testing or antigen or antibody testing, according to the APE.

As announced by the government, the certificate that will be issued will have a code QR code so that it is impossible to falsify it. When scanning the code, the following information will be received, as appropriate:

– Vaccination certificate which will be green if the holder has given both doses of the coronavirus vaccine or the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

– Certificate of completion, in the last 72 hours, molecular test or antigen test which will be green if the tests were negative.

– Blood antibody test certificate not older than six months for unvaccinated individuals and two months for vaccinated individuals, which will be green if the IgG parameter is negative.

To date, 3,830,000 vaccinations have been carried out in Serbia. The first dose was given to 2,170,000 citizens, while 1,380,000 received the second dose and 14 days passed from their vaccination.

Most vaccinations took place in Belgrade, and in the cities of Nis and Uzice where more than 50% of the population had been vaccinated. Low rates are recorded in southwestern Serbia with those vaccinated not exceeding 20% of the population. Vaccinations in Serbia, for about a month now, are carried out without an appointment, but the response of the people is not at the desired levels.

The government is trying to rekindle citizens’ interest by providing financial incentives, such as paying 25 euros to all citizens who have been vaccinated or will do so by May 31st. The vaccination campaign also involves large shopping malls where vaccinations are given and which provide vaccinated shopping vouchers.

The epidemiological situation in the country is gradually improving, which is attributed by vaccination experts. About a thousand new cases are detected daily while the number of patients in need of treatment as well as intubated patients has decreased significantly. 3,701 patients are currently being treated in the reference hospitals, while 115 people are in the ICU.

The outbreak of the pandemic in Serbia identified 702,451 positive cases of coronavirus while 6,594 patients died from complications of the disease. The mortality rate is 0.94%.
