Serbia: Road Excludes in large cities after student arrests

Students and bridges were excluded from students in the capital, Belgrade, and other Serbian cities last night, in protest of their extensive arrests of their classmates. In Belgrade, thousands of students and citizens hold 26 road hubs excluded, making it impossible for vehicles to traffic. The exclusions began yesterday afternoon, when it was announced by the General Prosecutor’s Office that eight students of the Technical University were arrested as suspected of unconstitutional action. Students’ arrest was based on information from the Security and Information Service (BIA) who recorded meetings in their schools on June 20 and 21 in which they “planned attacks on government agencies and exclusion of infrastructure”. The detainees have been found in custody and will face the category of “preparing actions against the constitutional order and Serbia’s security”. The arrests followed the magnificent gathering organized by the students in Belgrade and the episodes that followed.
