Thousands of people took to the streets in Belgrade on Sunday night, protesting plans to hold the community’s biggest festival LGBT in its capital Serbia.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at the weekend that the event planned for September could be “cancelled or postponed” despite organizers vowing to go ahead with their decision.

Sunday’s protest was organized by clerics of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian branch of the Night Wolves, a group of Russian bikers who support Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a report by Euronews.
The demonstration was announced as a protest against Pride in order to “save Serbia”.
The protesters say they are defending traditional family values. “Save our children and family,” said a banner, while some of them held crosses.
