Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian had chosen the Met Gala to announce the tennis player’s pregnancy. Since then, about three months have passed and the time has therefore come to know the sex of the unborn child. This time, a more “canonical” route was preferred: a baby shower/gender reveal party, as defined by Williams herself, together with close family and friends. At the end of the day, the long-awaited news arrived: the couple is about to have a baby girl. It was above all the champion who exploded with joy, who had underlined on several occasions how much he wanted a girl and that he never even considered the other possibility.
The details of this important day were revealed in a video, shared monday night on YouTubeby Williams. The tennis player has in fact decided to be filmed during the entire party and show the most salient moments: from the arrival, when she and her husband were greeted by themed decorations, balloons and flowers, up to the writing projected into the sky through a drone that read: «It’s a girl». Throughout the event, there were quite a few funny moments, such as Ohanian’s prank on his wife. In fact, the initial plans envisaged that the sex of the child should have been revealed during the cutting of the cake: the color of the filling – pink or blue, depending on the case – should have announced to those present and to the parents whether their child would be a boy or female. Instead, the tech entrepreneur wanted everything to be yellow to confuse the waters and leave Williams quite disappointed.
However, the disappointment was soon forgotten thanks to the writing that appeared in the sky. The ongoing pregnancy isn’t the first for the Williams-Ohanian couple. Both already have another daughter, named Alexis Olympia, born on September 1, 2017, a few months before their wedding. Furthermore, the girl was the protagonist of another very tender video in which the two parents explained to her that she would soon have a little brother or sister and that she would become an older sister. Despite being 5 years old, she has already taken her role quite seriously: in fact, she hugged her mother telling her that she was one of the best news in the world.
