Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today that Moscow is deeply concerned about ethnic cleansing, as he said, being carried out by “radical paramilitary groups” in Syria, the TASS state news agency reported. The Russian minister’s comments were made as Syrian sources and Russian social media channels said they had been an obvious attack on one of the two military bases maintained by Moscow in Syria. “Radical paramilitary groups are conducting a real ethnic cleansing, mass killings of people because of their nationality and religion,” Lavrov said, according to his transcribed comments published on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
