For Sergio Vale, CNN Specialist in economics, the choice of energy specialist Adriano Pires as Petrobras’ new president should make little change to the company’s price readjustment policy.
Pires is the name chosen by the government to take over the state-owned company after President Jair Bolsonaro’s decision to dismiss the current CEO, General Joaquim Silva e Luna.
“Changing the operation, the dynamics of price transfer, is to change six for half a dozen. I don’t see much difference with Adriano’s entry”, said Vale this Tuesday (29).
“What he has suggested is to reformulate public policies, but at Petrobras, he doesn’t have much control over that; would have if I were in the Ministry of Economy with the [ministro Paulo] Guedes. At Petrobras, he will have to deal with shareholders, the day to day of the company and there is no way around it. He saw having to pass those pressures on.”
