Sertanejo Matheus dies after being hit by a drunk driver in SP

The sertanejo Matheus, from the duo with Zé Henrique, died in the early hours of Wednesday (29) when he was run over on the Dom Pedro 1º highway, in Valinhos, in the interior of São Paulo. He was returning from Rio de Janeiro by car, when he stopped on the highway to change places in the direction with his father-in-law, when the accident occurred. Matheus’ wife’s father was injured.

According to the Civil Police, the driver who ran over Matheus and his father-in-law would have fallen asleep at the wheel and the vehicle invaded the opposite lane, causing both to be run over. The driver, a 36-year-old man, was arrested red handed for murder and culpable bodily injury.

Still according to the police, the driver passed the breathalyzer test, which was positive for alcoholic beverage, so the arrest occurred in the act.

The sertaneja duo was preparing to release a DVD, the first of their career. Luis Carlos, Matheus’s real name, which is the artistic nomenclature, was 43 years old. He leaves a wife and children.
