Service providers can now issue Invoice by Revenue application

Service providers are now able to issue an Electronic Service Invoice (NFS-e) by application, launched last Thursday (1st).

In addition to issuing invoices, the system also allows consultation of documents already released and checking of any records not yet transmitted.

The application is the result of a partnership between the Federal Revenue Service and the Brazilian Association of Capital Finance Secretariats, the National Confederation of Municipalities, the National Front of Mayors and other representative and contributing entities.

The system is free and available for iOS and Android platforms.

To issue a new note, the application requests the customer’s CPF or CNPJ, the type of service provided (haircut, for example) and the amount of the operation.

Protected by a password or biometrics, the application also allows the issuance of NFS-e even without internet access, and requests that the generated invoices be sent to the municipality when the connection is reestablished.

Another novelty is that the customer will receive a notification about the issuance of the note through a message on the cell phone.

The Federal Revenue’s initiative aims to simplify municipal taxation and help all service providers, whether MEIs or large companies. According to the agency, companies in the service sector, benefited by the new system, account for 70% of the Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The digitization of the process also solves problems of lack of standardization in the sector, since it contemplates 5,570 different legislations and Service Invoices in the country, in addition to several methods of calculation, according to the Federal Revenue Service.

For municipalities that do not charge taxes, due to the lack of a structured municipal tax administration or technological resources, the system also offers the solution.
