The services sector was stable from October to November, informed the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) this Thursday (12), in the second straight month without growth.
The market expected an increase of 0.2% in the monthly comparison and 6.2% in the annual comparison, according to a Reuters poll.
With the result of the month, the sector is 10.7% above the pre-pandemic level, recorded in February 2020, and 0.5% below the record reached in September 2022, highlights the institute.
According to the analyst of the Monthly Service Survey (PMS), Luiz Almeida, the November data can be read as a loss of breath compared to the advances registered in previous months, since, from March to September, the index accumulated a growth of 5 .8%.
“It is still too early to say whether we are facing a turning point in our trajectory. In any case, it is important to note that the main pillars that have been showing dynamism and helping the index reach its historical maximum, the information technology and cargo transport sectors, had a slowdown in their growth”, he says in a note.
