A drone attack yesterday, Saturday, against the main hospital in El Fasher, a city under siege in western Sudan, killed 70 people and injured 19 others, the director-general of the World Health Organization announced today. “The horrific attack on the Saudi hospital in El Fasher, Sudan, caused 70 deaths and 19 injuries among patients and those accompanying them,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. “At the time of the attack, the hospital was full of patients receiving care,” he added. A medical source had previously told AFP about 67 dead. Tedros warned that access to health care in El Fasser “was already very limited” as most facilities were closed due to heavy fighting.
