According to Civil Defense, the Cell Broadcast System issues severe or extreme warnings for people in areas at risk of natural disasters such as floods, floods, landslides and windstorms, or those caused by man.
With the tool, every cell phone in a given region connected to a telephone antenna and receiving a 4G or 5G signal is notified .
The difference is that the message is shown to the population superimposed on the content in use on the cell phone. The alert window only closes with a command from the device user .
To receive the notice, no prior registration is required. . In extreme cases, the alert is also issued with a beep on the cell phone even if the phone is in silent mode.
Also according to Civil Defense, in addition to the statement about the risks, the system also informs you about evacuation locations and safe points .
The agency advises that, upon receiving the alert, people follow the guidelines and stay in a safe place or move to an evacuation point. In the case of flooding, pedestrians and drivers should not attempt to cross the region or walk through flooded areas.
