‘Sex Education’ star Ncuti Gatwa will be the next Doctor Who

Ncuti Gatwa will play the role of doctor in the british series Doctor Who. This was announced by the chain BBC on Sunday, and this election became a historic event, as it is the first time that a person of color is chosen as the protagonist of the Show.

The Rwandan-born Scottish actor will become the 14th Time Lord, replacing Jodie Whittaker on the popular sci-fi series, who took on the role as “the first female doctor” in 2017. Gatwa is currently known for starring in the netflix sitcom, sex education.

Before the news was confirmed by the BBCGatwa, 29, posted on his Instagram account two hearts accompanied by a blue square, representing the iconic TARDIS, a police phone booth that travels through time and space and has become a symbol of the beloved British program.

Last Sunday, the actor walked the red carpet at the Bafta Awards, where he was nominated for Best Male Comedy Performance for sex educationand the star of The Last Letter from Your Lover He took the opportunity to declare that his next role “means a lot to many people, including me.”
