In BZRP Music Session vol. 53, Shakira launches phrases directed at her ex-husband, the former Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué, such as “so much so that you gave yourself as a champion and when I needed you, you gave your worst version” or “I understood that not it’s my fault they criticize you, I just make music, sorry I sneezed on you”.

The interpreter goes even further and leaves no doubt about her intentions when she says “this is for me to mortify you, chew and swallow, swallow and chew” or “women no longer cry, women earn”. With these phrases and a few more from her new song, Shakira is without a doubt a trendsetter.

Shakira and Piqué confirmed their separation in June 2022. They had been together for 11 years and have two children.

“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for understanding,” says the statement released by the former couple.
