Shanghai: Finally the hard lockdown with dystopian images after two months

The hard lockdown which had been imposed on Shanghai due to the increase in cases coronavirus of the Omicron mutation, finished after two monthsas in China dawned on June 1, where it was announced that the quarantine in which the city was for two months would be stopped.

According to Reuters, more than 25 million people in Chinese big cities can now leave home freely and leave them behind dystopian images created by the lockdown.

So, when the clock struck midnight, groups of people started shouting “lift the ban” and opening champagnes. The streets came to life again, with some going out for picnics, children riding bicycles, retirees dancing and the squares filled with people.

Disneyland in Shanghai, which has not yet announced when it will reopen, was illuminated to celebrate the lifting of the lockdown in the cosmopolitan city of China. The barbers worked in the lighted streets, to treat their customers outdoors. On the social networking platform WeChat, stores have begun to announce their reopening.

Nonetheless, residents are required to wear masks in public places and avoid gatherings. The restaurants only work for ‘take away’stores open with restrictions on the maximum number of eligible customers, while gyms will open later.

During those two months, Shanghai experienced horror scenes as authorities mass-killed all the coronavirus patients’ pets.

Also, Twitter had flooded videos with people who had committed suicide by jumping from the roofs of apartment buildings into the streetsas China’s policy forbade any leaving the house, even going to the supermarket to buy food.
