A shark cardume was spotted on the islands of the Alcatrazes archipelago, in the São Paulo Coast on the morning of last Tuesday (20). Aquatic animals were found by a group of researchers and environmental agents.
THE CNN, The oceanographer Carolina Ferreira stated that the professionals were monitoring an exotic coral species, known as the “sunset” when they saw the sharks. Shortly thereafter, they dived and registered the grouping.
The cardume was composed of more than 70 animals, being 50 marsel sharks, and more than 20 other species including fish and raim.
The expedition that was underway is part of a project called “Mar de Alcatrazes”, which aims to supervise the marine part in the archipelago, studying the water temperature and various exotic species.
