Shawn Mendes releases “Shawn”, his 5th studio album; listen

The singer Shawn Mendes 26, released his fifth studio album this Friday (15). Titled “Shawn “, the album has 12 tracks, including the already released “Why Why Why”, “Nobody Knows”, “Isn’t That Enough” and “Heart of Gold”.

Initially, the album was scheduled to be released on music platforms on October 18, but was postponed “to bring some inspirations and ideas to life”, according to a statement made by the singer on his Instagram profile.

In an open letter released previously, Shawn spoke about the new production. “Music really can be medicine. 2 years ago, I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago, I couldn’t walk into a studio without completely panicking. So, being here now with 12 beautiful songs finished seems like a great gift”, he reported.

“I sincerely thank God for my friends and family. Life can be brutal, but having a small group of people you trust deeply to guide you makes everything so much better. I have no idea how I would have survived the last two years, much less make an album without you”, he mentions in his text.

Last Tuesday (12), the singer surprised his fans with an early screening of the documentary “For Friends And Family Only, A Live Concert Film”, in Berlin, Germany. The film will show the live recording of the show that Shawn Mendes performed at the Bearsville Theater, in Woodstock, in the US state of New York, on August 8th. At the time, it was the first time that the artist sang songs from the new album.
