One love triangle in Illinois, USA, “had a tragic development” according to the police, after a woman shot and killed a friend because she refused… to kiss her. A mother of three fatally shot the man in front of his girlfriend after she also refused to follow the wishes of the perpetrator.
Claudia Residence-Flores, 28, had just moved out with James Jones and his girlfriend at the Preserve Woodfield apartment complex in Rolling Meadows when “a love triangle exploded deadly,” the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The three had gone out for drinks last Thursday night when Residence-Flores asked the 29-year-old instead of kissing his girlfriend to kiss her. He refused.
The refusal resulted in bloodshed
Prosecutors handling the case said the perpetrator and the couple returned after leaving their home and there the 28-year-old asked again, persistently from the victim to kiss her.
He even asked his girlfriend Jones to kiss her but they both refused repeatedly. This seems to have angered the woman who, knowing where Jones was holding a gun, took it and threatened him.
He grabbed Jones’ gun, which was hidden under a sofa cushion in the house, and threatened him. Prosecutors said Jones tried to lower the gun when he saw that he had taken off his safety, but the woman was able to raise her arms and shoot him once in the chest.
Jones’s girlfriend called the authorities who arrived at the scene of the crime and found the gun.
Resentiz-Flores was identified as the perpetrator, arrested by police and confessed to the shooting. According to the Rolling Meadows police department, he is accused of homicide. Authorities are examining the possibility that the 3 involved had an affair with each other, either during the incident or in the past.
