Lawyer Ana Marques, who represents a woman who was the victim of aggression by a military police officer on the Luz Metro station platform, last Saturday (6), announced that she plans to include a report of homophobia in the police report.
A CNN spoke with the victim's representative, who reported that the police officer was homophobic and that in addition to the aggression recorded by witnesses, there were more attacks by the agent.
Marques reported that in addition to the physical consequences, the victim is very emotionally shaken and reported that the police officer said that “Since she wanted to be a man, she would be beaten like a man”.
“The video only shows the slap to the face, but other attacks were carried out. She has scratches on her arm, bruises and a wound on her leg,” said the lawyer.
On the afternoon of this Monday (8), the victim will go to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) to undergo a forensic examination. After that, the defense will accompany the victim to the Sexual Diversity Coordination of the State of São Paulo, which must take over the case to formalize the case.
Images of the attack were shared on social media. In the video, it is possible to see that the victim is defenseless on the ground, when the police officer shouts at her, pointing his finger in the woman's face asking her to lower her hand.
On Monday morning, the Military Police reported that the police officer involved in the incident had been identified and removed from operational duty and that a Military Police Inquiry (IPM) had been launched to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
