She was told to ‘cover up’ while sunbathing topless in a Sydney pool and went into a rage, complaining she was ‘two foot two.’ The reason for a TV star in Australia, Kathleen Ebbs. The non-binary influencer explained how she had visited pool when a lifeguard approached her.

Kathy claimed she understood immediately what the issue was. It was the fact that it was topless and noticed that none of the men had anything on. The lifeguard revealed that “some people complained because there were children around.”

She told news.com.au that the real issue is that “breasts have been sexualized by the male gaze and patriarchy. Breasts are not inherently sexual and we know that because kids don’t see them as such, but society does.”

“It makes no sense to me that men can have their nipples and breasts out but we can’t,” she continued.

Following the incident, Kathy, whose best friend is media personality Abbie Chatfield, took to Instagram to express her anger. “Guys are the only people who don’t sexualize my breasts,” she noted. “Why don’t kids see gender and sexuality and bodies that way. Not until we know”.

“Your parents let you dress up in public and then you get to an age, like 10, and then suddenly there’s this emphasis on the fact that you have to cover your breasts. Suddenly your private parts aren’t yours anymore. Why; Because of patriarchy and the male gaze and because of the society we live in.”

Kathy continued, saying that “as a non-binary person I personally feel more sexualized when I’m wearing a bikini top,” while asking the council for more information on the pool policy after she was unable to find some relevant information on the internet.

Her video was flooded with comments. “This is so irritating,” one wrote. “It makes me very uncomfortable that a man in Speedos is speaking for children on this issue. Who is; I’m sorry for your experience,” another noted.
