Nicole Paulino went through all the necessary paperwork through the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles to renew her license but was baffled when she received a message denying her the process because state records showed she was not alive. “I was a little scared, I’m not going to lie,” the mother of three told NBC 4, adding, “I’m surprised to be here”! The Gaithersburg resident then received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service calling her a “deceased taxpayer.” Not only that, but the mistake also resulted in the cancellation of health insurance for Paulino and her three children.
