She went viral for ‘marrying her stepfather’ and now she’s changing her story

A few days ago Christy uploaded on her TikTok account a video that went viral with 23 million views. In it, the 26-year-old woman from Florida said that she married her stepfather, calling her decision the best she has ever made in her life. The comments she received were many and unflattering, with most users of the platform wondering why she couldn’t find another man to marry and not her mom’s (ex)husband.

Now Christy has admitted the story was a figment of her imagination and decided to tell the truth, uploading a new video to TikTok. According to her older brother, Shaun Christopher Harris, she died tragically in a motorcycle accident and somewhere there she met her best friend.

Loss brought them together, the couple fell in love and started their own family, welcoming daughter Kali Shine and son Kash Christopher – both named after Christy’s brother. Captioning the new video with 267,000 views, Christy wrote: “Not as interesting as the other story but now you can leave my kids and my brother alone.”

In a message to New York Post the girl admitted that in the first video she just wanted to see the reactions of users about the 16-year difference between her and her husband. “I also wanted to prove that everyone will get upset and believe anything they see online these days. They got mad when I “married my stepfather” and they got mad when I published my real story and revealed that he wasn’t actually my stepfather. The internet thrives on drama. I received a large number of death threats in which they wished that my children would be born without arms and legs, rejoiced that my brother had died, and wished to invoke Providence. It was absolutely crazy.”
