The Maritime Fire Brigade (GBMar) found a body, this Friday morning (4), at Praia de Itaquitanduva (SP). The hypothesis is that the body is that of Aline Tamara Moreira de Amorim, 37 years old, one of the two who disappeared in the sinking of a small vessel in São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo, close to the “Devil’s Throat”.
She is the only one of the seven victims who remains missing.
According to GBMar, the team was called to identify a body stranded between beaches 1 and 2 of Parque Xixova, on the coast of São Paulo. After the incident, the vessels moved to the location and confirmed the existence of the body.
However, because the location was difficult to access, the team transported the body to Gonzaguinha beach (SP) so that the appropriate legal measures could be taken and the body could be sent to the IML.
The group highlights that family members were contacted. Still, even without confirmation that the body is Aline’s, the hypothesis remains since the body located is female and there is only one occurrence of disappearance in open waters.
Shipwreck
The wreck occurred last Sunday night (29). The vessel carried seven people, five women and two men. Of the passengers, two men and three women were rescued. Last Wednesday (2), the body of Beatriz Tavares da Silva, 27 years old, one of the two missing in the wreck, was found.
The search for the missing began shortly after the accident and has been resumed daily since then, to try to locate both victims who remain missing.
One of the survivors, student Camila Alves, 20, said in a video posted on her social network that the boat’s occupants were not wearing vests. “When the boat capsized, no one was wearing a vest. And none of the girls knew how to swim”, he reported.
“I don’t know how to swim. Bia (Beatriz, the woman who was missing and whose body was found) and Vanessa (Audrey, survivor) didn’t know how to swim. When the boat capsized, the boat had three life jackets and two gallons of gasoline. Everyone grabbed hold and everyone tried to save their lives,” he said.
Investigations
The information provided by the vessel’s driver is that the boat was registered with the name “La Linda”, being six meters long. The hull was constructed from aluminum.
The sinking will also be investigated by the Civil Police, and one of the points to be investigated is whether the boat offered safe conditions for its occupants. The place where the sinking occurred is considered critical for navigation. Look:
