Tragically died found a patient with coronavirus in India, who had previously been raped by a nurse while in the hospital.
The 43-year-old, whose name has not been released, quickly deteriorated shortly after she informed police about the attack she had received at Bhopal Memorial Hospital in Madhya Pradesh.
The woman was intubated and died later that night, police confirmed in a statement on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail.
The nurse, 40-year-old Santosh Ahirwar, is believed to have sexually assaulted a 24-year-old hospital worker and was initially made available due to alcohol consumption.
The woman had survived from the tragedy in Bhopal in 1984, which is considered one of the worst disasters, killing thousands and exposing half a million people to a toxic gas.

A group representing the victims of this tragedy attacked the hospital for its “passive attitude” and demanded that those responsible take responsibility. They also claimed that the victim’s family had not been informed about him rape.
In a letter, the team wrote that the administration “has done everything it can to hide this horrific and criminal act under the rug and that is the exact reason why the rape victim’s family has not even been informed of the events.”
The police noted that the victim had asked to protect her identity and therefore did not inform the family.
Ahirwar is being held and will be brought to justice.
